Ozone Storage and Distribution

Stilmas Ozone Storage and Distribution systems are designed to support reliable storage, sanitization, and circulation of purified water and Water for Injection. By using ozone for microbial control, these systems help protect water quality throughout the storage tank and distribution loop while reducing reliance on chemical sanitization.

The system can be configured with electrolytic ozone generation, UV ozone destruction, water quality monitoring, cooling, and optional hot water sanitization to meet facility-specific process and compliance requirements.

Key Features

  • Continuous Microbial Control: Ozone helps control bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microorganisms throughout the storage and distribution system.
  • Biofilm Management: Helps disrupt biofilm and oxidize the organic material that supports continued growth.
  • Residue-Free Sanitization: Ozone naturally decomposes into oxygen without leaving chemical residues behind.
  • Electrolytic Ozone Generation: Produces ozone directly from water without introducing additional treatment chemicals.
  • Integrated Monitoring: Configurations can include ozone, conductivity, flow, temperature, pressure, and Total Organic Carbon (TOC) monitoring.
  • Flexible System Configuration: Available with ozone sanitization alone or with optional periodic hot water sanitization.

Why Use Ozone for Water System Sanitization?

  • Effective Against Biofilm: Helps break down biofilm structure and remove its nutrient source.
  • Broad-Spectrum Protection: Supports control of bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
  • Reduced Chemical Use: Provides microbial control without adding chemical sanitizers to the water loop.
  • Lower Downtime: Automated sanitization can reduce the labor and interruption associated with manual processes.
  • Clean Decomposition: Ozone converts back into oxygen after use.

Ozone Storage and Distribution System Configuration

The standard Stilmas configuration combines a sanitary storage tank, distribution pump, electrolytic ozone generator, UV ozone destruction, monitoring instruments, and loop supply and return connections. The system is designed to maintain circulation and microbial control while supporting continuous monitoring of critical water quality conditions.

Recommended Maintenance and Monitoring

Recommended maintenance requirements vary by system configuration and facility procedures, but may include:

  • Sampling and microbial testing based on facility procedures
  • Automated ozone sanitization of the distribution loop
  • Optional automated hot water sanitization
  • Periodic ozone sensor calibration
  • UV lamp, gasket, and intensity monitor replacement
  • Vent filter cartridge replacement
  • TOC monitor maintenance
  • Ozone generator maintenance
  • Conductivity sensor calibration

Why Choose Stilmas Ozone Storage and Distribution?

  • Integrated System Design: Storage, distribution, sanitization, and monitoring are engineered to work together.
  • Flexible Configuration: Systems can be adapted around loop design, sanitization preferences, utilities, and facility requirements.
