The Scraped-Surface Heat Exchanger Principle

In scraped-surface heat exchangers, the product enters the cylinder at the bottom and flows upward, while the heating or cooling medium moves in a counter-current flow through a narrow annular channel.

Rotating blades continuously scrape the product from the cylinder wall, ensuring uniform heat transfer. The product follows a corkscrew pattern aligned with the rotating scraping assembly, preserving quality through gentle handling and reduced shear. This design also minimizes pressure drop across the inlet, maintaining process efficiency.

Both product flow and rotor speed are adjustable, allowing customization to suit the specific properties of the product being processed.
