Exergy Sanitary Tube-in-Tube Heat Exchangers

Exergy Sanitary Tube-in-Tube Heat Exchangers provide compact, efficient heat transfer for high-temperature, high-pressure, and low-flow applications. Their coiled inner- and outer-tube design helps reduce thermal stress while maintaining reliable performance in demanding pharmaceutical and high-purity processes.

Product-contact surfaces feature a maximum finish of 20 µin (0.5 µm) Ra, with optional electropolishing to 15 µin (0.38 µm) Ra or better. The sanitary design keeps product and utility fluids separated to help prevent cross-contamination.

Key Features

  • Compact Coiled Design: The inner and outer tubes are coiled together to improve efficiency and reduce the system footprint.
  • High-Pressure Performance: Designed for pressures up to 4,500 psi (310 bar).
  • Efficient Heat Transfer: Supports heat transfer rates up to 100,000 BTU/hr (29 kW).
  • Low-Flow Capability: Accommodates liquid flow rates up to 10 GPM (38 LPM).
  • Hygienic Product Surfaces: Product-contact surfaces have a maximum finish of 20 µin (0.5 µm) Ra.
  • Optional Electropolishing: Surface finishes can be improved to 15 µin (0.38 µm) Ra or better.
  • Clean-in-Place Compatibility: Fully drainable product-side construction supports efficient cleaning.
  • Crevice-Free Design: No dead spaces or crevices help support sanitary processing.
  • ASME BPE Compliance: Available with ASME Bioprocessing Equipment sanitary fittings and compliant construction.

Durable, Customizable Construction

Exergy Sanitary Tube-in-Tube Heat Exchangers are available in 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy®, Inconel®, titanium, and other alloys. Connection options include NPT fittings, tube stubs, and custom fittings to meet specific installation requirements.

Thick-walled seamless tubing, all-welded construction, and resistance to thermal stress help provide dependable performance in challenging operating environments. Integrated threaded mounting holes simplify installation, while material and process certifications support documentation requirements.
